India’s Manushi Chhillar Wins Miss World 2017
Manushi Chhillar brings back home the Miss World crown after 17 whole years. Ms. Chhillar is the sixth Indian woman to win the title of Miss World. Reita Faria was the first Indian woman to claim the title back in 1966, followed by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 1994, Diana Haydon in 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999 and Priyanka Chopra in 2000.
After winning the title of fbb Colors Femina Miss India World 2017, Haryana girl Manushi Chhillar is busy traveling across cities for her work commitments. A few weeks back, the beauty queen was in Rajasthan’s biggest city, Jaipur. “Jaipur is a lovely city and I spent almost a month here when I was preparing for the crown. In fact, I have been here many times, on school trips as well with my parents,” Manushi says.
Jaipur Tourism:
Jaipur is the capital of India’s Rajasthan state. Popularly known as the “pink city” due to the distinct color of its buildings, it is not difficult to fall in love with Jaipur. The city is also very popular for its fascinating monuments and colorful bazaars. It is also known for its gorgeous handloom garments and wonderfully laid-out gardens. “My school trip to Jaipur was the most memorable one as I tried many things and saw many monuments for the first time”, says Manushi sharing an interesting anecdote. The Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall Museum and the Rambagh Palace are the most popular tourist destinations in Jaipur, which the new Miss World might definitely have visited.
The magnificent city is also home to few of India’s forts that showcase old age architecture. Few of them are the Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, and the Nahargarh Fort. If anything spells luxury, The Gem Palace in Jaipur is it. From contemporary designs in 18-carat gold to Rajasthani-Mughal pieces for the traditionally inclined. Manushi, who confessed she has a sweet tooth, also tried her favorite Rajasthani sweets fine and ghewar. “I had some amazing sweets. But Rajasthani spices are something I can’t handle that easily. After winning the title of Miss India, the 20-year-old went further and bagged the title of Miss World 2017.
